Plans and billing

SignSwifly has four plans. Free costs nothing and needs no card. Solo, Team and Scale are paid by card, monthly, quarterly or yearly, and you choose and change them yourself in the app. An organisation that needs to pay Scale by invoice can arrange it with us. Each plan’s price and what it includes are on the pricing page; every price is in Australian dollars and includes GST.

Plans are chosen, changed and cancelled under Settings → Billing. Only the workspace’s owner can change the plan or the billing details; everyone else in the workspace can see which plan it’s on.

The Free plan

  • 3 envelopes a month.
  • Once the month’s 3 are sent, a new envelope can’t be started until the allowance starts again on the 1st (10 or 11 am Sydney time), unless you have single envelopes to send it on. Drafts you already have can still be edited or deleted, and sent from then.
  • Up to 3 drafts at a time, archived ones included.
  • Up to 10 people on each envelope.
  • One user, and 2 templates, archived ones included.
  • Every envelope gets 90 days to sign, weekly reminders, and a completion email to everyone.
  • Up to 30 emails a day to the people on your envelopes: see Emails a day.
  • Documents stay available for 6 months after an envelope finishes. Nothing is deleted after that, and upgrading brings them back.
  • Sealed documents, the certificate of completion and the audit trail, as on every plan.
  • Documents you upload: a finished Word or PDF file, converted and sent in the same way as on every plan. The document editor, Saved documents, a Word template’s wording and the PDF editor come with Solo and up, and show a padlock on Free.

Single envelopes on Free

A Free workspace’s owner can buy single envelopes under Settings → Billing: $1.75 each, or $2.50 each with SMS, GST included. Choose how many, up to 10 at a time, on Stripe’s page, which shows the total before you pay. Stripe emails a tax invoice, and it’s under Manage billing too.

  • They never expire. One without SMS is used only once the month’s 3 are sent, and one with SMS for an envelope that texts someone (or past the month’s 3 when no other is left): each one sends one envelope, however many people sign it. Billing shows how many you have.
  • An envelope with SMS texts up to 4 people their signing link, as well as or instead of email, and asks for a code texted to their mobile before they sign if you choose. It includes 4 texts for invitations and reminders, and codes to sign with always go. Once its 4 are used, reminders go by email, and someone reached by text alone is texted a reminder only when you choose Send reminder now.
  • Adding a mobile number on Free needs an envelope with SMS to send on, and sending an envelope that texts anyone uses one, even before the month’s 3 are sent.
  • An envelope is used when it’s sent, so one that’s later declined or voided still uses it.
  • Six single envelopes cost more than a month of Solo, which sends 10. Single envelopes you have when you upgrade are kept: on Solo or Team, one without SMS is used rather than charging an extra session.

Signing sessions on Solo and Team

Solo and Team include a number of signing sessions each month. A signing session is one envelope sent for signature, however many people sign it. It’s counted when you send, so drafts don’t count, and an envelope that’s later declined or voided still does. A bulk send uses one for each envelope it makes. The month starts again on the 1st, at 10 or 11 am Sydney time. Settings → Usage shows how many you’ve used this month.

Past the month’s allowance, sending carries on, and each extra session is charged at your plan’s price per extra session. Extra sessions go on your next invoice, so on a quarterly or yearly plan they’re billed when that term renews.

Upgrade from Free

  1. As the owner, open Settings → Billing.
  2. Choose how often to pay: Yearly, Quarterly or Monthly. Each plan shows its price for that choice.
  3. On the plan you want, select Choose Solo or Choose Team, then pay on Stripe’s secure checkout.
  4. Back in SignSwifly, the page says Payment received, setting up your plan, and shows your new plan within a few seconds.

If it’s slow, reload the page a few minutes later rather than choosing a plan again, which would charge you twice. Still on Free after 10 minutes? Email us.

Change plan

Once you’re paying, Settings → Billing has Change plan, and each plan says when a switch to it would start before you choose it.

  • A bigger plan starts straight away. Your card is charged today for the new plan, less what’s left of the one you’re on. Extra sessions used so far go on the same invoice, at the old plan’s price. A smaller plan or new billing frequency that was waiting for your renewal is called off.
  • A smaller plan, or the same plan at a different billing frequency, starts at your renewal. Nothing is charged today, and you keep the plan you’ve paid for until then. Billing says which change is waiting and when, with a button to keep your current plan instead.
  • A smaller plan has to fit your team. If it has fewer seats than you have people and open invitations, remove people or withdraw invitations first, under Settings → Team.
  • If the payment for a bigger plan doesn’t go through straight away, Billing says so, with a link to Stripe’s page to pay, and why when Stripe has said. If your bank wants you to confirm it, choose Confirm the payment. If your card was declined, update it under Manage billing, then choose pay the invoice for the change. If Stripe hasn’t said which, choose Pay the invoice for the change, updating your card first if it was declined. Billing shows this again whenever you open it, until it’s paid. The new plan starts once it’s paid, and nothing changes if it isn’t paid within about a day.

Cancel

  1. As the owner, open Settings → Billing and choose Manage billing. It opens Stripe’s billing page for your workspace.
  2. Cancel your plan there.

Your plan keeps running until the end of the period you’ve paid for: Billing says Your plan is set to end on that date. Then the workspace moves to Free. To change your mind before then, renew the plan under Manage billing. While it’s set to end, the plan can’t be changed: renew it first.

What moving to Free means

  • Nothing is deleted. Envelopes you sent while paying stay available. Documents of envelopes sent on Free stay available for 6 months after they finish, and come back if you upgrade.
  • Nobody is removed from your team, but invitations can’t be sent on Free.
  • Drafts you have are kept. With 3 or more, a new one can’t be started until you’ve sent or deleted enough. A draft with more than 10 people, or with a nominated signer, can’t be sent on Free.
  • Templates you already have are kept and can still be used, Word templates included. Archived ones count towards Free’s 2 as well. With 2 or more, you can’t add another until you delete enough to make room. Editing a Word template’s wording needs Solo again.
  • Saved documents and saved PDFs are kept. You can still download, send, rename or delete them, but not open them to edit, until you’re back on a paid plan.
  • New envelopes use the standard settings. Your own defaults are kept, and apply again when you upgrade.
  • What comes with a bigger plan, such as signing groups, bulk send and exports, stops until you’re back on it.
  • API keys stop working and webhooks aren’t sent until you’re back on a paid plan. Webhook events from your time on Free are never sent. See the API and webhooks.
  • Required MFA and an idle sign-out you’ve set stay in force. See Required MFA and idle sign-out.

Tax invoices

Your tax invoices are under Settings → Billing → Manage billing, ready to download, along with your card details. Each one is issued by Au Fait Solutions Pty Ltd, trading as SignSwifly (ABN 17 655 104 304), and shows any GST included in the price.

We add your organisation’s name from Settings → Org Profile to your invoices. With Just me, we don’t add an organisation name. The name and ABN given at checkout stay on your invoices either way. Change them under Manage billing. Invoices already issued don’t change.

Tax invoices and receipts are emailed to the billing email held with Stripe, which you can change under Manage billing. Changing your organisation’s email under Settings → Org Profile doesn’t change it.

If a payment fails

Billing says Your last payment didn’t go through. Nothing is switched off yet: update your card under Manage billing. Your plan can’t be changed until the payment is through. If it still hasn’t gone through when Stripe stops trying, the workspace moves to Free, as it would after cancelling.

Emails a day

Each plan can send a number of emails a day to the people on its envelopes: invitations, viewers’ copies, reminders, resent invitations and new links, new deadlines, and completion copies. Emails to you and your team don’t count.

PlanEmails a day
Free30
Solo200
Team1,000
Scale5,000, unless your agreement says otherwise
  • The day runs from midnight Sydney time.
  • Past the limit, what you do yourself is refused until midnight: Send envelope (or a send through the API), a bulk send, Resend, Change, Extend deadline and Send reminder now. The message says when you can send again.
  • Automatic reminders wait, and go once the new day starts. The team’s activity says so, once a day.
  • Emails your signers cause, such as the next signer’s invitation and the completion copies, always go out, but they count.

SMS to signers

On Solo and Team, texting signers is an add-on the workspace’s owner chooses under Settings → Billing: $5.50 a month for 30 texts on Solo, or $27.50 a month for 150 on Team, GST included. With it, a signer can get their signing link by text as well as by email, or by text alone, and you can ask for a code texted to their mobile before they sign. Scale includes 300 texts a month. On Free, an envelope sent on a single envelope with SMS can text up to 4 people.

A text is one message to one person: an invitation, a reminder, a new link or a new deadline, or a signer’s code, which counts once for each signer however many times they ask for it again. Texts are counted from the 1st of each month, as sessions are. Past the month’s included texts each one is 25c, on the add-on’s next invoice on Solo and Team, on your plan’s next invoice on Scale, or on the invoice we send you under a Scale agreement: a text is never held back for it.

The add-on is paid through Stripe’s checkout, which shows the amount before you pay, and billed monthly on its own invoice. Remove it under Billing at any time: it ends when its paid month runs out. After that, envelopes already sent keep texting their signers, and new envelopes go by email. Moving from Solo to Team moves it to Team’s 150 texts from that day, and the difference is on its next invoice; when your paid plan ends, the add-on ends with it.

Scale

Scale is one package: 400 signing sessions a month, 20 users, extra sessions at $0.44 each, and company sign-in (SSO) and SCIM provisioning included, for $199 a month, $579 a quarter or $1,990 a year, GST included. Choose it under Settings → Billing and pay by card, as Solo and Team are: from Free it starts at checkout, and from Solo or Team it starts straight away, charged the difference for the rest of your period. Extra sessions, and texts past the month’s 300 at 25c each, go on your next invoice. You then ask for company sign-in and your own sending domain in Settings, and our team connects them with you; SCIM and Microsoft 365 you switch on in Settings, and the guides take you through each.

If your organisation needs to pay by invoice, or needs more sessions or users than the package, contact us and we’ll arrange Scale with you under an agreement, invoiced by us monthly, quarterly or yearly. Its agreement says what it includes, and any change to it is made with us.

Scale includes a document retention policy. Legal hold is an add-on to Scale, priced in your agreement: Scale on its own doesn’t include it.
